A1: SPID is an ID got from http://botplatform.com after you registered. Please keep the SPID and password safe, you need to use it to login on our website and connect to our platform in your code.

A2: Bot ID is the robot account. It is actually an IM account, you may register it previously on its corresponding website.(eg: abc@hotmail.com should be registered on http://signup.live.com/.).

A3: Yes. Users need to apply for a MSN account for their robot account.

A4: Please download the SDK on our website first, then follow our user guide and develop the robot program logic and the activity window page with your favorite programming language, without caring about the communication protocol.

A5: Users need to host their robot on their own server. The recommended server configuration: CPU (P4 2.8G ), Memory (1G), SCSI hard drive (36G), 100M card, etc.; operating system can use Windows, Linux and Unix platforms.

A6: Yes, please visit here http://botplatform.com/document.jsp for the document.

A7: First please check whether your bot account and the password is correct, and be note that the password cannot include any symbol and special characters, only letters and numbers.

A8: Please be note that the picture name must be an English name, no Chinese. And the picture has size limit, please note the instructions when you add pictures in the platform.

A9: Please check your robot login status. If logged in, it should be the connection problem between BotPlatform server and MSN. Please wait for minutes, your robot will be online automatically.

A10: Please check your robot server is working normally. If the server is working, it should be the network problem.

A11: if you are using our free version, the words cannot be removed or changed. But if you want to remove or change the words “BotPlatform”, you need to submit an application (http://botplatform.com/contact.jsp ) and pay additional fee.

A12: Please use the function of “MSN account management” to check the contact list.

A13: Please check your firewall and the port.

A14: Yes. The SDK protocol is opened to public. http://botplatform.com/document.jsp

A15: PERL and PHP is for developing the website, has nothing to do with the development of a robot.

A16: Yes. Please check our development documents.

A17: (a) First you need to register in our website http://botplatform.com/, sign up a SPID; (b) Download the SDK from the website; (c) Create your bot with the SDK; (d) Click the button “Purchase Now” here http://botplatform.com/enterprise.jsp or contact us.

A18: You just need to give us your SPID after paying the money. We will upgrade it to Enterprise version. Click here.

A19: Generally a normal account supports about 1000 users. So if a robot’s contacts are more than 1000, developers do not know how to balance the users. In order to satisfy developer’s requirements, we make a feature called “Cloud Accounts” to solve this problem. So to support more users, developers just need to add more accounts in the platform. When a certain account is full of members, another account will add the user initiatively when this user adds the robot.

A20: Provision account is a MSN account which can support five million users. But there is a disadvantage using provisioned account, that is the robot cannot push messages to users and cannot read the status of users.
